ATR Training began life in 1990 as Sunray School of Motoring, offering learner instruction in the Medway Towns area. As the company grew, it changed its name to ATR Training and began to take on additional responsibility for training potential driving instructors. As well as offering it's own instructor and learner courses, ATR Training took on responsibility for ADI Training in Kent for the Mentor Group and national driving school Let's Drive until 2003, and currently, for the Kent driving school The Big Red L Company. PassRight Driving School was launched in 2004 as the learner driver side of the business increased. Still growing, the company now offers Learner Instruction (manual and automatic), Advanced Driver Training (including PassPlus), and Fleet Driver Training.
